A "Super" Bowl of Chili

Good Chili is good chili. Personally I like a little sweet with some heat on the back end. Never been a fan of beans or noodles in my chili but if you want to add either, please feel free to.

Ingredients:

2 lbs of Ground Chuck or Beef (75/25)

1 Lbs of Ground Pork ( I used sweet or hot)

8 oz's of beer ( Can be omitted but you won't taste it in the chili)

24 oz Jar of Prego Tomato Sauce (Meat flavored)

1 Cup Tomato Sauce

(1) 6oz can Tomato Paste

1/2 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce ( I used Sweet Baby Ray's Chipotle Sauce)

(1) Yellow Onion

(1) Green Bell Pepper

(1) Red Bell Pepper

(3) Celery Stalks

(2) Jalapeno Peppers

(2) Package of Lipton Beefy Onion Soup Mix ( 1 box has two packets and we need both)

2 Tbs Light Brown Sugar

2 Tbs White Sugar

1/4 Cup Chili Powder

1 Tbs of all purpose seasoning ( use your fav)

1 Tbs Minced Garlic/1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce mixture

1 Tbs Dried Oregano

1 Tbs Cumin

1 Tps Hot Sauce (I used Frank's)

1 Tps Dried Basil

1 Tps Salt

1 Tps Blk Pepper

1 Tps Red Pepper Flakes

1 Tps Smoked Paprika

Directions

1. Dice up your Bell peppers, Celery, Onions and Jalapeños and set to the side.

2. Brown the ground beef and ground pork

3. Add the (2) packets of Lipton Beefy Onion and continue to cook.

4. After browning for 3-4 minutes, add all of your chopped up veggies and let them soften up.

5. Add the Minced garlic/Worcester sauce mixture and continue to cook 8-9 minutes.

6. Add all your seasonings and sugars at this point and continue to cook until the meat is cooked.

7. Add 8 oz's of beer and continue to cook.

8. Add your Prego, tomato sauce 6 oz of tomato sauce, and bbq sauce and stir well

9. Add 3-4 cups of water, stir well and let it simmer for an hour and half to two hours. (check the consistency after an hour and adjust accordingly)

Top with your favorite toppings such as cheese, sour cream or pico de gallo.

Enjoy!
