Cobbler

Nothing says warm weather and summer like a good cobbler. Try this easy recipe and you will have you something! FULL DISCLOSURE: This recipe doesn't have fresh fruit in it.

For this recipe, I'm using pie filling. I know some people will say this isn't real cobble, but the goal with any recipe I share is to make something easy and still full of flavor! I love to take the mystery out of cooking. All that should matter is that it's freaking delicious!

INGREDIENTS:

  • (2) 20 OZ cans of your favorite pie filling ( Apple, Cherry, Blackberry, Peach, Blueberry etc)

  • 2 teaspoon Cinnamon (Optional if making Apple Cobbler)

  • 2 cups All Purpose Flour

  • 1 ½ cups Sugar

  • ½ cup Brown Sugar

  • 2 Large Eggs slightly beaten

  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 stick and half of melted butter

  • Pinch of salt

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Pour the (2) cans of pie filling in your cast iron skillet or cast iron dutch oven and spread evenly. (If using apples, now is the time to sprinkle the 2 teaspoon of cinnamon over the pie filling)

  2. Prepare grill of smoker for indirect cooking at 350⁰.

  3. Combine Flour, Sugar, Brown Sugar, Baking Powder, Eggs, and salt in a mixing bowl. Stir to combine into small crumbles.

  4. Now, top with crumble batter mixture evenly, and drizzle with melted butter.

  5. Cook in smoker or grill for 45min to 1 hour or until brown.

6. Careful it will be hot but serve immediately with your vanilla ice cream and enjoy!!!
