Football season is right around the corner! Nothing like a crowd pleaser to get your group more hyped about the food than the game. Everyone is doing this on TikTok, so I added my touch to the dish. By adding the smoke from the Traeger or the charcoal from a grill, this takes it to another level.
Ingredients:
1/2 lb chorizo ( I added 1lb)
1/2 onion diced
1 large tomato diced
2 jalapeños seeded and diced
20 oz Velveeta
2/3 cup sour cream
You can add, taco meat, ground beef, ground turkey etc. Or, you can use Velveeta Queso Blanco. make it yours!
What is needed:
Disposable Aluminum Grilling pan ( I used 12.75 in x 10.4 in x 2.5 in)
Pellet grill or a grill set up for indirect cooking ( you can use your stove as well)
Instructions:
Preheat your Traeger or grill (for indirect cooking) to 250°
Brown chorizo or meat of your choice on stove top
Start by spooning this into the corner of the pan.
Add onion, Tomato, Jalapeño and Velveeta to pan ( I added the cheese in the middle and everything else around it.
Place on Traeger or grill at 250° for a minimum of 45 min (up to 2 hours)
Stir and add sour cream – smoke for 15 min more
Allow this to rest for 5-10 min and enjoy with your favorite chips.
